Sometimes I come across new bands in a strange way. This band's CD was in a pile I had received during my journalistic college phase, but had never listened to. Boy, what a mistake!

The Cinematics are a Scottish band originating from the small town of Dingwall. Perhaps you may have spotted this post-punk band opening for the likes of the Editors, Mute Math, We Are Scientists, Snow Patrol, Block Party and The Bravery.While I, personally, think that they have been influenced some by The Smiths, they claim their main influences are from The Clash to the Talking Heads.
