I've been getting some of emails as of late asking questions about my interests, personal music tastes, etc. So I thought I would come here and respond to some of them.
After all, it's only fair.
ABOUT E.B
Is your name really E.B? If so, what does it stand for?
E.B is one of my noms de plume. E.B stands for E. Beauvais.
What got you to start The Reader's Quill?
Well, I've been reading through forums of my favorite books for a while now. Sometimes participating, sometimes just reading through. I've always liked the sense of community there are on those sites, so I started toying with the idea of making my own.
On a night of exceptional boredom and bad tv, I decided I would make my blog a reality. I wanted to create a place where readers not only were able to read a review, but also could listen to some good music and view some cool art. I also wanted them to have the ability to interact with me and other readers. Thus, The Reader's Quill was formed.
How old are you?
I'm in my twenty-somethings.
What did you major in?
English with a concentration in Creative Writing & Motion Pictures with concentrations in Screenwriting and Production.
What kind of music do you listen to?
I listen to a bit of everything, really. All types of rock, blues, indie, classical, dance, latin, folk, some techo, oldies, 60s-90s, etc. Right now, I'm in a bit of an indie stage. I will tell you that one of my all time favorite bands are The Smiths.
Here's what I'm listening to right now:
You've mentioned your book, what's it about?
I think it's bad luck to talk too much about your writing project, but I will say it has been reviewed as a four way cross between 1984, Brave New World, The Canterbury Tales, and Catcher in the Rye. A surprising combination, I know, but it seems to be working. I'm not done with it yet and I'm honestly not sure when I will be. It's slow moving. I'm sort of experiencing a Meyer- Leaked Midnight Sun episode on an, obviously, much smaller scale.
Where are you from?
While I won't say exactly where I am currently residing, I will tell you that in my life time I've lived on the east coast of the US, Europe and the UK. I will also say that I have a slight pull towards Canada, as well.
Feel free to continue asking me any questions you may have. I am happy to answer them.
-E.B
P.S. My next review will be The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova. Check back this coming week for it! The Historian is a historical novel with ties to Vlad the Impaler. Extremely, extremely interesting, so visit The Reader's Quill again soon for more information!
